We are polar opposites in terms of character, Bonjo is more outgoing and impulsive, Amanda replied when asked about her personality and partner. This impulsiveness was seen again when Bonjo immediately decided to get married at the end of 2021, after 2 years of delaying their marriage due to the pandemic. With only 1 month to prepare everything, Amanda and Bonjo managed to organize a beautiful wedding with the help of many of their friends.
The concept of the wedding is earthy, simple, garden with a Balinese touch. For 12 years, Bali has been the backdrop for Amanda and Bonjo’s growth as a couple. “We want to show appreciation for Balinese culture through our wedding elements. The flowers used are local Balinese flowers, the dinner from opening to closing is a Balinese menu and the headdress I wear is inspired by Balinese patterns too,” Amanda said. Not only that, Amanda also made sure this wedding was made as environmentally friendly as possible. “We avoid using floral foam and plastic, using electronics, as well as working with local craftsmen. The selected souvenirs can also be used or enjoyed by guests so that they are not wasted or piled up in the display cabinet, such as skincare, biscuits and a bottle of drink,” Amanda added. .
Planning a wedding in just 1 month is certainly challenging. Bonjo also got sick near the wedding day. “Take care of your physical and mental health leading up to your wedding day, eat nutritious food, manage stress in a healthy way, get enough sleep to make your wedding planning run smoothly. Divide tasks with your partner and make a to-do list so you don’t miss it,” advises Amanda. He also added, “Although wedding dress makers, wedding planners and all vendors can do their job well, it’s best not to plan a wedding in just 1 month. At least 3 months is probably more ideal, so vendors can prepare better for your wedding. .”
